NCF – Noah’s Park Lesson

God made Day and Night

Objective: The objective of this lesson is to teach the children that God made day
and night.

Bible Story: Genesis 1:1-10

Memory Verse: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” Gen1:1

Bottom Line: Our BIG God who made the world lives in me!

Story: In the beginning the world was empty (you can illustrate this by showing the kids
an empty box or glass.) There was darkness everywhere; can you all close your eyes?
Thatʼs how it was in the beginning, dark. But God had a special plan.
[While telling the children the story of the first day of creation, put a big piece of black
sugar paper or black cardboard up, and as you tell the story, sketch the light breaking
through the darkness with yellow/white chalk.]
God separated the light from the darkness and said “Let there be light!” .And there was
light! God called the light “day” and the darkness “night”. This was the end of the first
day. Has anyone ever seen a sunrise? Who has ever seen the sunset and all the light go
away? What happens then? Is anyone afraid of the dark?
We donʼt have to be afraid of the dark do we? No, because we have Jesus, and He is our
light.
Isnʼt our God just amazing! He created all the beautiful creatures, suns, moons, stars and
that same Jesus who made all these wonderful things lives inside you and me!
Pray with the children!

  • Cardboard circles
  • Glue
  • Sucker sticks! !
  • Yellow and orange crayons
  • Labels that say “Day” and “Night”

Each child will be given a cardboard circle, they are to stick black paper on the one side
to illustrate night and colour in the other side yellow to illustrate day. Stick the sucker
stick on the bottom of the circle so the kids can hold it up. Paste night and day labels on
the appropriate sides.

God made the Sky and the Sea

Objective: The objective of this lesson is to teach the children that God made the
sky and the sea

Bible Story: Genesis 1:1-10

Memory Verse: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” Gen1:1

Bottom Line: Our BIG God who made the world lives in me!

Story: A Day at the Beach!

You will need:

  • A shallow container of sand
  • Blue material (sea)
  • Mats (as the sand)
  • Card board clouds
  • Beach ball and beach toys
  • Sunglasses
  • Some hats
  • Sunscreen
  • Towels
  • Sea shells(if you have any)
  • A big beach bag to put all the things in
  • A picnic basket full of goodies (juice and biscuits)

Lay the blue material out as the sea and the mats next to the material as the sand. Stick
the clouds on the wall.
Let’s imagine that we are going to the beach today!
What do you have to put on when you are going to the beach? Sunglasses, hats,
sunscreen, bathing costumes (take these things out your beach bag as you talk and allow
the kids to put them on). And what do we have to take with us? Towels, sand castle toys,
beach ball, picnic basket. So come on, letʼs go!
(Have the kids sit on the mats and explain to them that they are sitting on sand and the
blue material is the sea)
Wow! Look at the big waves in the sea! Who here has been to the beach? Have you
ever swum in the sea? Is the water warm? Is it cold? And how does the sand feel?
What do we build with sand? Sand castles! Do we go to the beach and swim in the sea
when itʼs raining and cold or when itʼs hot and sunny? Now if we lie on our beach towel
on the sand and look up into the sky, what do we see? Clouds! The beach is so much
fun isnʼt is? Who do you think made the sand, the sky and the sea?
Can you remember what we learnt about last week? God made day and night. And on
the second day of creation God made the BIG BLUE sky and the WET WET sea with all
its waves. Now tell me, where does God, who made all these AMAZING creations live?
In our hearts! !
Today we are going to make pictures of the sea and sky using cotton wool and blue
crayons. Then when we are done, we will come back here to our beach scene and have
a beach picnic with juice biscuits, fruit and goodies.
But before we do that, letʼs pray.
Pray with the children.
Activity:

You will need:

  • Pictures of clouds and sea
  • Blue crayons
  • Cotton wool
  • Glue

Give each child a colouring in picture, give them cotton wool to stick on for clouds and
blue crayons to colour in the sea.
Then have your beach picnic with juice, biscuits and fruit !

God made the Land and Sea, Plants and Trees

Objective: The objective of this lesson is to teach the children that God made the land,
sea, plants and trees.

Bible Story: Genesis 1:1-8 (Recap)
Genesis 1:9-13

Memory Verse: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” Gen1:1

Bottom Line: Our BIG God who made the world lives in me!

Story: A Picnic in the Garden!

You will need:

  • An Apple
  • An Orange
  • Carrot
  • Banana
  • Leaves
  • Flowers
  • Container of sand
  • Picnic basket
  • Picnic blanket

Take the children outside, find a nice grassy patch for a picnic. Sit down on a big picnic
blanket. Recap the first two days of creation with the children.
Have a basket full of different fruits, veg, flowers and some leaves. Ask the kids what
each fruit is, where did it come from? What does it grow on? Who likes fruit? Who likes
vegetables? Do you know who made all these fruit and vegetables? And these flowers
(pass the flowers around and allow the kids to smell them)? And these leaves, where do
they grow on? Remember last week we had a day at the beach and we learnt that God
created the sky and the sea. On the third day God separated the land from the sea and
created plants and trees (Pass around a container of sand for the kids to run their fingers
through).
Every time we eat fruit and vegetables, or when we see big strong trees, or smell pretty
flowers, or play outside on the grass or in the sand, we can remember that on the third
day of creation God made all these things. And where does our BIG, STRONG,
AMAZING God live? In our Hearts!
Pray with the children, thanking God that he lives in each of their heart and for all the
beautiful plants, trees, fruit and veggies He created for us.

Activity:

You will need:

Cardboard

  • Sand
  • Leaves
  • Glue
  • Crayons

You will probably have to do this activity outside as it could be quite messy with the sand.
Give each child the cardboard drawing of the land and plants. Let them put glue on the
land part of the picture and sprinkle sand over it. Then give each child leaves to stick on
the tree part of the picture. Let each child colour in the rest of their drawing with crayons.
Snack on the fruit and veggies out of your picnic basket with your juice and biscuits.

on the second day of creation God made the sky, well on the fourth day of creation God
made the sparkling stars, the bright moon and the planets, and at night we can see them
in the sky. How many stars do you think there are? There are thousands, millions,
billions and trillions of stars, WOW! Show the kids where earth is and how small it is in

On the fifth day of creation God said:

Day 1: Day and Night
Day 2: Sky/sea

Day 4: Stars/planets
Day 5: Fish/ birds
Day 6: Land/animals/me
Animals-how exciting! What kinds of animals can you think of? There are just so many
different kinds of animals and God made them all!
You can really have some fun with this subject. You can get the children to pretend that
they are different kinds of animals. You name the animal, and they pretend!
But God didn’t stop there!! He also made us!! With fingers and toes, and all kinds of
special body parts! Isn’t God incredible! Songs about animals, or our bodies(‘heads,
shoulders, knees and toes’ for example) will work well.
Pray with the children and thank God for all that He has made!

Activity:

You will need: Paint

  • Paint brushes
  • Paper(A big A3 size for each child)

Let each child paint as many different kinds of animals as they can think of.
This might get quite messy, so probably a good idea to do it outdoors if you can!

Juice and biscuits:
Give each child a Marie biscuit, some juice, and some cut up fruit. Have a picnic on
blankets outside (or inside, depending on the weather).
