Talk it Over 6 –

*NB: IT WOULD BE A GREAT IDEA TO TAKE COMMUNION AROUND A MEAL OR JUST BY BREAKING BREAD AND JUICE TOGETHER.

Opening Question:

Where do you have meals with your family and what do you most enjoy about it?

Read:

1 Cor 11: 23-26

Questions:

1.) Knowing that the last supper was a significant time with disciples what would you have asked Jesus if you were one of the disciples sitting at the last supper with Him?

(Leaders guideFocus on the fact that Jesus knew He would die and wanted to leave His disciples with something.  He left them with something that would remember & proclaim him.)

2.) What does Jesus want us to remember about

a) The Cross

b) His resurrection, and why is it important to proclaim the death of Jesus until He comes again?

(Leaders guide –Without the cross, we would have been left to pay for our own sins. Because of the resurrection, Jesus conquered death, meaning that we can have life. Proclaiming His death until He comes is our mission on earth – telling people that He died for our sins.)

3.)Why do many Christians struggle with guilt if Jesus provides the forgiveness of sins?

Is anyone struggling with guilt tonight?

(Leaders guide – Take time to pray for those struggling with guilt and also look at using this time to take communion in the group to remember the death and resurrection of Jesus. A good idea is to maybe put people in groups and allow them to pray for one another.)
